EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR SEARCH
Californians for Justice is looking for our next Executive Director! We seek an individual committed to upholding and living out the values of racial justice, education equity and youth leadership development.
Californians for Justice
is a statewide youth-powered organization fighting for racial justice.
We believe that young people are the leaders we need to create the healthy, just and vibrant schools all of our communities deserve.
Reimagine & Rebuild: A Vision for Racially Just Schools
For most of us, public schools are foundational to getting a good start in life. However, the pandemic has exposed the generational inequities that have and will only continue to harm Black, Indigenous, Asian American and Pacific Islander, and Latinx students if we stick with the status quo.
Relationship Centered Schools
In a time when public education is under attack, when we are facing a national teacher shortage, and when young people experience fear and isolation in their schools, we need a solution that works for all of us. That solution is Relationship Centered Schools.
Equitable School Funding
LCFF is already working in our schools, but we can continue to build momentum for a more fair and racially just future by defending the LCFF equity provisions and pushing for a well-funded education system, pursuing stronger student and family engagement, and strengthening school climate and social-emotional supports for students and educators alike.
Youth Voice in Democracy
Many of our youth leaders are too young to vote, but not too young to care about their communities, schools, and the impact that decision-makers in schools and in government have on their lives.
Californians for Justice is proud of the significant impact we’ve made on education, youth leadership, civic engagement and racial justice for over 20 years.
We believe our youth are the future leaders California needs in order to create real and lasting change in schools and communities.
We aim to break the cycle of racial bias in our schools so we may in turn open the door to economic prosperity for all Californians.
We know that strengthening our democracy is critical to reaching our goals of economic prosperity and racial justice.
"We need Californians for Justice because for some of the young people in Long Beach, it’s our home away from home, it’s OUR safe haven, it's OUR space. CFJ is not called ‘youth lead’ for no reason, students are out here finding their voice that they thought they never had..
– Tajah Morrow
"It’s essential that student leadership and voice are reflected in our school and communities because we’re the ones that will be running the world one day...
– Zhihao Gou
"Being involved in CFJ has changed me to speak up more, get more involved, and to want to be a better leader and make sure everyone can participate because every student’s voice matters.
– Carlos Ramirez
