The 2013-2014 school year was a historic turning point for students across California. The passage of the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) created a more equitable and flexible funding system that directed greater resources to low-income, English learners, and foster care students. Yet as implementation began, it was clear that the missing link in ensuring the Local Control Funding Formula would be successful was students. The stakeholders most impacted by the education system were absent from the conversations on what it would it take to improve student outcomes, and ensure their own student success. Read the full report to learn about the:
