Campaign for Quality Education
Californians for Justice anchors the Campaign for Quality Education (CQE), a statewide coalition of grassroots, civil rights, policy and research organizations committed to educational equity for all communities in California’s public schools.
The CQE leads strategic campaigns that integrate our strengths in community organizing, research, legal and policy advocacy to achieve equitable and just education policies. The CQE engages communities of color and low-income communities to actively develop state and local education policy agendas, inspire a public consciousness that genuinely values education, and advance the movement for racial, social and economic justice.
The CQE is in year two of a three-year campaign (2008-2010) called “100 Percent Prepared for College and Career."
This plan makes sure that all students in California will be prepared for college, career, and success––not matter where they live or what their economic, racial, or ethnic background is.
The “100 Percent Prepared” Plan is focused on influencing the state of California to invest in a quality education that provides academically rich and relevant curriculum and instruction for all students in kindergarten through twelfth grades that can lead to higher education and well-paid and meaningful work.
This May 13, 2009 the CQE will lead a May Action gather over a thousand students, teachers, parents, and community organizations in Sacramento to rally for educational justice and the "100 Percent Prepared" Plan.
