Building Leadership Developing the next generation of civil rights leaders. A key part of CFJ’s mission is that our members develop the skills and leadership necessary to become part of the next generation of grassroots civil rights leaders. Our goal is for CFJ members to learn the practical skills and political analysis needed to win real change.
“There are a lot of kids out there that want to do something about problems in their schools, but they just don’t know how. CFJ shows us how.” —Annalouise Solis, Fresno “It’s an outstanding opportunity for youth to be involved in their communities in a positive way.”—Samantha Knox, Long Beach

“Usually adults think that youth can’t make changes. Through CFJ you learn that you can make a change, and you have more respect for yourself, more dignity, and more pride.” —Marisol Melendrez, Oakland “CFJ allows youths to make a difference in our communities, especially when it involves our futures. We work hard for justice and I would like CFJ to be around for a long time.” —Lancy Eang, San Jose
